Answers to the questions we get asked before being hired — about cost, formats and how to choose. No runaround, no empty promises.
- (01) How much does corporate event photography and video cost? In Portugal, photographic coverage of a corporate event typically runs between €400 and €800 for a half-day of four to six hours, and between €600 and €1,200 for a full day. An aftermovie starts higher — between €750 and €1,500 for a half-day, between €900 and €2,000 for a full day. These are market ranges, not a price list: the final figure depends on the scale and stakes of the event, the hours on site, the size of the team, the deliverables, the volume and difficulty of the editing, and the delivery deadline. - (02) Photography or video for your corporate event? Choosing between photography and video for a corporate event depends mostly on how you will use the material, not on the size of the event. Photography documents, illustrates and feeds communications for months; video conveys energy and emotion to those who were not there. For many internal events, photography alone is enough — and acknowledging that frees budget for where it matters. Read guide
- (03) How to choose the right photographer for a corporate event Choosing a supplier for a corporate event comes down to seven points: a portfolio of the same kind of event, equipment redundancy, who is actually there on the day, delivery deadlines and formats, usage rights, conduct during the event, and a single point of contact. A beautiful portfolio is the easiest criterion to see — and the least decisive. Read guide
- (04) What is an aftermovie and when does it make sense? An aftermovie is a short, rhythmically edited video that recreates the energy of an event for those who were not there — usually between 60 seconds and 3 minutes. It is not a full record of the event: it is a communication piece with its own narrative. The most important decision is not whether to commission one, but to decide before the event, because it requires specific footage that cannot be improvised afterwards. Read guide
- (05) What shots to ask for from a corporate event photographer? The photographs to ask for at a corporate event fall into five families: interaction and networking, programme moments, informal moments, brand visibility, and portraits. A brief that covers all five — and that says where the images will be used — is worth more than a list of thirty specific shots. Read guide
